Miswak Organic Toothbrush
The oldest toothbrush in recorded history, the miswak was first used 7000 years ago in ancient Babylon. The twig comes from the root of the Arak tree and has been recently studied by researchers and medical practitioners to aid in several areas:
- Removing plaque
- Whitening teeth
- Fighting bad breathe
- Killing bacteria
- Saliva production
- Nicotine addiction
How to use this Miswak
Step 1: Peel about 1 cm of the thin outer bark to reveal the bristles underneath. You can use your nail, teeth, keys, or a knife to do this.
Step 2: Separate the tightly packed bristles by softly chewing on the exposed tip. This will also soften them.
Step 3: Brush by holding the twig perpendicular to the surface of your teeth and move in an up and down and circular motion.
Step 4: When bristles dry out and/or fray apart, use a knife or scissors to cut the tip off. Repeat step 1. Each stick should last at least 1 week if stored in a cool, dry place, and kept in it's original wrapper between uses.
